What This Policy Covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Surveh Inc. (“Surveh,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website, use the Surveh dashboard, or interact with a public survey form. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices available to you.
When cookies or similar technologies collect personal information, our Privacy Policy applies in addition to this Cookie Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site operator. A cookie set by the website you are visiting is called a “first-party cookie.” A cookie set by a domain other than the one you are visiting is called a “third-party cookie.” Third-party cookies allow third-party features—such as analytics and advertising—to be provided on or through the website.
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for several purposes. Some are strictly necessary for the Services to function; others help us improve performance, understand usage patterns, or measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. The categories below explain each type of cookie we use and why.
Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the basic operation of the Services. They enable core functionality such as user authentication, session management, and security protections. Without these cookies the Services cannot function, and they cannot be disabled.
Examples include the session cookie set by our authentication provider (Clerk) to keep you signed in, the CSRF token used to prevent cross-site request forgery, and a short-lived cookie that remembers your cookie-consent preferences.
Performance and Functionality Cookies
These cookies enhance the performance and usability of the Services but are not strictly necessary. They may remember your display preferences, your preferred language, or other interface settings so that you do not have to re-enter them each time you visit.
If you disable these cookies the Services will still work, but some convenience features may not be available.
Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with the Services. This information helps us identify popular features, detect usability issues, and prioritize improvements.
We use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) for product analytics. PostHog collects anonymized event data such as page views, feature usage, and session duration. When Vercel Analytics is enabled, we may also collect aggregated traffic and performance metrics through Vercel's built-in instrumentation. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you grant consent through our cookie-preferences panel.
Advertising Cookies
With your consent, we may use advertising technologies for campaign attribution and optimization. Currently, this includes the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, which use identifiers such as fbclid, _fbc, and _fbp to measure ad performance and optimize delivery.
Advertising cookies and related tracking parameters are only set when you have explicitly opted in through the cookie-preferences panel. If you do not consent, no advertising cookies are placed and no data is shared with advertising platforms.
Cookie Details
The table below lists the specific cookies and similar technologies currently in use on the Services.
| Cookie / Technology | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk session token | Essential | Session |
| CSRF token | Essential | Session |
| Cookie consent preferences | Essential | 1 year |
| PostHog analytics | Analytics | 1 year |

Your Choices
You have several options for controlling which cookies are placed on your device:
Cookie preferences panel. When you first visit Surveh, a banner will appear asking for your consent to non-essential cookies. You can adjust your preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Preferences” link in the site footer. Changes take effect immediately; previously set non-essential cookies are removed when you withdraw consent.
Browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings menu. Consult your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Services from functioning correctly.
Advertising opt-out. Industry opt-out tools are available at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.com. These tools allow you to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating networks.
Canadian Privacy Considerations
As a Canadian company, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Under these laws, we obtain consent before placing non-essential cookies that collect personal information. Essential cookies are deployed without consent because they are strictly necessary for the provision of the Services.
For a broader overview of how we comply with Canadian privacy law, please see our PIPEDA Compliance Guide.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the technologies we use or to meet new legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
